ITB's and Cams -Bigger Injectors?

so running cams at the moment 421's on omex 600

and will be fitting bodies later on this year

so would i need/require bigger cc injectors, asking this as i know its ok to run standard injectors on either one, but unsure as to what they would be like for both :S

im saying logicaly i would need to upgrade to something like 330cc?

so any help/recomendations would be much appreciated

cheers

you'll be right on the edge of your limit with ITBs and 421s. I'd recommend using Megane 225 injectors, they're actually far bigger than you need but a much better spray pattern, much more controllable and with lots of headroom for furthur mods. I've fitted a couple of sets to NA setups and they work beautifully

Try Cit-Ren or something like that?
I bet you'd be able to get a second hand set off a car that's being broken for quite a bit less than a new set would cost.

Why do you need injectors that big?

EDIT: Just saw what car you have. Should have known better really...

Mate you could try RStuning as when ever Paul does a stage 2 megane he fits larger injectors as the stock ones don't flow enough fuel for over 270bhp or so (which makes me a bit curious as to whether they actually are 480cc's as mentioned above) Any way even if he doesnt have them he might be able to point you in the direction of someone who does.

Or just join meganesport and put a post up in the wanted section

If your running a PH1 with the regulator on the rail you could investigate the feasibility of just fitting a 4 bar regulator instead, that would probably be the cheapest option

What fuel pressure does the Clio RS version run? 3 or 3,5?

PH1 is a 3bar reg on the rail
Not sure on the rest of the range but mt Trophy had a 3.5bar fpr in the tank

Yes thats what Im thinking, cant recall what model but the haynes manual för Clio (non-sport) state 3,5 bar for one of the petrol engines.

wont give much of an increase really though. off the top of my head, you roughly need to double fuel pressure to gain 25% more flow

Just a thought as most people say that the stock injectors will flow enough for an ITB setup (200bhp or so) so figured a litte bit more pressure might be all it needs.

Whats the highest figure likely to be achieved on ITB's and 421's?

Hi mate, I was going to suggest (not trying to be calous btw) that you get to the bottom of its low output first before you throw more of you hard earned cash at it - IIRC it made about 170 @ SRR?

Hi Tom yeah I agree it should have made 185 according to k-tec

but have fixed a few things since then

new aux belt kit as pulleys were massivly fkd,new plugs as were fairl worn out and new leads

feels a bit perkier now so hoping that has fixed it tbh will get it rr againprobs next month to see

cheers
