ITB's back to standard... god these cars feel slow now!

  williams and trophy
lol...u still got ur arse handed to u by relatively mildly tuned clios unless u were over the 100 mph mark ;)

and the notion of a v6 clio being a supercar...where the fuk did u get that from?? lol.

not that I know of... I panned your cammed, chipped, breathed on and TOTALLY stripped Williams... at 100mph I dont think the rear view could magnify well enough to see where you were. The same car on bodies I had to stop from redecorating the rear end in silver... unless you mean over speed bumps, in which case I concede, yours is deffo faster ;) lol

James - fair play, you're now in the insane catagory... I like it

So you're going to loose a lot of money now to go abck to what you had? Because obviously you sold the bodies cheaper than a new set?

  b/g 182, meg tourer
well im glad itb's make a big difference. one day i WILL have a set! other mod's on the way first tho. exhaust/cams etc...

172/182's are not 'slow' tho Jesus! c'mon! i mean yeah, they are not fast but they are hardly dangerously slow! lol.

Buy a fast car

cheaper to just upgrade this one, thanks for the detailed insight though ;)

dunno, it feels pretty lifeless, but i'll probably be used to it by the time it goes back to GDI lol.

so what happened to going turbo charged and 4WD and stuff?

I was just taking the piss on that, people kept on speculating, so I just thought I'd have a bit of fun... it became a bit too obvious when I said I was putting a Getrag 6speed from a Skyline... I think they are bigger than the Clio's shell lol

lol....it wasnt as far off as u may think mate. but another typical reno additoin for the 17/82 range....the rear view makes things look a LOT smaller than they are to try to convince ppl of how much they pulll away from things ;)

It would be nice for the ITB's to finaly arrive so I can put them on my car. I've been waiting for almost 2 months. It seems to me that you shipped them with pony express with a limp horse.

  R35 GTR
how do you think I feel! I've gone from 250bhp to a 1.6 ford escort for last 2 months.

Getting some horsies back tomorrow.:D

pmsl at jon!!! i might finally stand a chance against you now! well until may anyway then i will even be able to go after scoobys!!!!

What a waste of money, buy a quck car to begin with

eh? tell me a faster car that I can get for 7k all in and is as cheap to run and handles as well.

theres a multitude of them. get a 1/2 decent scooby for a few grand now, few grand under the bonnet .....roberts ur mums bro.

m3s, again can pick them up cheap now. etc etc.

ian....if u can sell used parts off your car, replace them with brand new items, and still have money in ur pocket....why not lol...specially when the fittings free. ;)

M

mini-valver

Standard ones aren't slow. Chris n Nic's cup pulled on you in 1st 2nd and 3rd.....

I said cheap to run

scoobies do 20mpg and cost a fortune to insure..

and m3s are the same, my dads crank bearings went on his m coupe (same engine, common fault) last week and cost 1200 for a new crank plus 2000 for a rebuild...

any others you can think of?

and my williams would pull on chris n nics cup ;)

Id quite happily give you a blast cause im very very confident that my car is faster than the 180bhp williams I had, even when it was totally stripped. Also because I left a cup about 10 cars lengths behind me up to 110

phil, you cant be getting much better than 20mpg either though?

and it cant be much cheaper to insure is it?

what about a starlet/galanza thing, tuned up! they fly dont they?

Think 2lives williams has throttle bodies also? Unless he has taken them off. If he hasn't im sure the 220bhp which cammed williams with t/b's push out would be a good do.

Need to get that one on camera boys.

Jesus, you ever race that white mk1 TBd clio in the end?

36.6mpg on mways, 28 combined i reckon so far. Easily as good as standard but ov a lot worse giving it the beans.

the insurance is still half what I was paying on the evo, prob not far off as quick I dont think either

so when I heard about these I went back to the dark side :)
Welcome back to the Dark Side young one.

220bhp/ton on an ITB'd clio and still will do 30mpg with cheap insurance and very cheap parts. You dont feel like a chav, subaru and evo, or a bell end, M3, driving one either.

TheJesus how do you get free fitting?

as already said really, petrol costs arent that different if your toeing them. ...

fast and cheap to run dont really make any sense to me tbh, u cant really have a car thats both, there are sacrifices to evrything ;)

u want fast and cheap for sub 7k.....busa'd mini/kitten will take the piss outta the bodied 172, or how bout a jago jeep, drop a v8 in, add charger...ur lookin at 11sec 1/4s. as i said earlier, theres a multitude of cars that can b had cheaper and will be quicker. just takes a bit of time/effort.

the bodies are off mine again now, am stuck with 2 specs at mo....1 stripped out, coiled, cammed, mapped, altho the cams and map arent set up properly yet, still undecided as to what to do with that one lol, and i have the other choice of a fully trimmed, std blocked/ecu with cat back etc.

not had 0051 down the strip yet, but 0159 in lower spec and running heavier ran 14.0s , reckon itl be running low-mid 14s as is now, 0051 should be dipping into the 13s i reckon. even tho it isnt set up properly yet.

but yeah, any time you want to compare, is no probs for me, when i have them on the road again lol.

You'll need to evict the rusty spiders! ;)

sorry mate.....thats been done ;) well on 0051..no need to on 0159...its one of the few untouched by rust or bodyshops ;)

Not true a hayabusa mini would be around 19k just for the kit an then buying the car on top of that, a jago jeep am dropping in a v8 then a super charger would be wayy over 15k but huge and drink fuel as soon as ya touch the pedal, faster than a t/c clio.

To modifiy a clio with a couple of £KK an get generally more bang for your buck is better when you have a good car in the first place.

I simply look at it as the car is worth 8/9k, then 3.5k for itbs so 11/12 grand in total, 200sx or cheap evo or some thing else would cost that to start with and it would be a much older car aswell, i prefer to have a newer car with less miles an know what its done then modifiy it.

  williams and trophy
lol...dont know where you get ur prices from...but these things can be done a hell of a lot cheaper if you dont take it to somewhere thats gunna relieve you of best part of 15k for cuttin a bit of metal and welding a bit more in...

jago jeep, pick em up for a couple hundred quid, as u can with v8s. the charger would be around 1500-2k ..so thatd still leave you somewhere around 4k to play with.

If your going to build stuff yourself out of sencondhand bits then you could buy a ph1 172 for 3k and a secondhand SC with a standalone ECU and give that ago for a grand and get 250bhp.

But as the other chap said if you buy a a nearly new clio and brand new bits and get someone to install them its going to cost you.

  williams and trophy
well a cheap fast car aint going to be had new for sub 7k. i think we all agree on that 1 lol.

for the gas guzzlin v8s, nowt wrong with a gas conversion, would still have plenty enough left over from the original 7k to install it. would be a lot cheaper to run then too. and jus knock the gas off to run with petrol wen u want the extra .

but a charged 172 for under 4k....including the cost of the car?? (no cat. write offs either)

id like to see that tbh, the mapping would be a good chunk of nearly a 1/4 of the total cost.
