its not loud at constant revs, just when you gun it (it a pretty large rear silencer)

First off I had a MIJ (yes i know lol) but at the time i hadn't looked into them but it had lost alot of power with this.
Secondly was a prospeed, only went with that because everyone raved on about them on here and that was better than the MIJ but deffinately lost power over standard. Now I have a yozzasport decat and standard system and it feels quicker than ever.

Interesting. The power loss with the Prospeed - was it tested (e.g. rolling roaded or timed run) or your gut feeling?

I have a Prospeed and it definately feels more pokey than the OE and maybe a tad more than the K-tec stealth I had before. I never did a before and after test however. (Also its obviously a different system to that which was on your 182)

apparently prospeed's 172 system are alot better than there 182 system.
i didn't have it tested but it was deffinately noticable and then as soon as i put the standard system back on it was noticably quicker again! Im certain if i had it rr'd it would have lost power with it...
