Picked my 18 month old clio dynamique up on friday, went to see my horse in it last night and for a drive out in it . Got to the stables saw my horse went to start it and it wud not start!!!!!!!!!!. Lights came on the dash and the fuel gage etc went up but no life , could hear the fuel pump buzzin but that was it. So it has gone to a dealer near me to be sorted out :( Have been told its a fault with the immobiliser or the key may need programming . Seeing as i havent had the car long i dont really know much about them .

Sorry, but that amused me ^^^^

Anyway, cant you take the car back to where you bought it from? or was it a private sale?

Yeah the garage who i bought it off have sorted it out they sent a pick up truck to collect it and have took it to the main dealer to be fixed hopefully it will all be sorted soon havent even had chance to go out on a proper drive in it but theres loads of time when i get it back

Hey you failed to mention me getting it started for you!!! (y)

If it is the key transponder I think its a pretty poor immobilser as it took me seconds to start it by directly wiring the starter (plenty of room on a 1.2) . As the fuel pump was priming on ignition I reckon the immobilser is ok and it may be a fault with the starter circuit? It was strange that for the rest of the night it started by itself fine

You could have popped home, grabbed your spare key and seen if that fixed it. Best to try everything before the garage monkeys start messin with it.

my old one did the same sort of thing. try disconnecting the battery for 5 mins reconnect it and the immobiliser should reset. Learnt it from the AA
