I LOL'd.^
And yeah. It's kept in a garage with a CCTV Camera over the garage so it should be fine. I'll still watch it cautiously though.

£140, give or take 20 notes to have one reprogrammed.

Cheers :)

Can clio keys be made by anyone other than renault?

i.e if you had one key, could someone use the code in it to make another? Or is there some information that only renault have?

I know someone who cuts keys etc so may be able to help here...

This area is nasty. I'll either find a prostitute down there or some little chav "yo blud, git out mah drain before ya get murked G"
I'd rather pay. Just over 100 Sheets then?

The key can be 'cloned' but most key cutting places. I paid £30 for mine. Obviously it doesnt have the remote part but will unlcok and start the car

Get the key cut seperately from your existing, just incase the locks were ever changed, probably cheaper too. Then ring up all the accessible Renaults near you for the fob as I found each dealer varied in price, around £30+ difference between my closest 10. Once fob has arrived from France, its needs to be coded, normally only Renault iirc but have heard someone on here knows another place that will do. One Renault dealer actually didn't have the machine to code the key for my ph1! About half hour labour they'll charge, so again ring them all up as I found at least £30 per hour labour charge differences. Then don't be a muppet and walk over drains unless you have a tight grip on keys.

For reference, I paid £38 for coding after my dad had a moan I was a student and they could come down a bit lol and the fob for £77 from £85 as they couldn't code my key there and I kicked up a fuss for wasting my time going somewhere else. Was prob a couple of years ago but don't think prices have changed much on keys.

When i couldn't find my spare key for my 172 i had to go to the stealers to get a replacement and get it programmed, no where local could program it (Locksmiths etc although they could supply the blade).
It was nearly £140 :(

Your local dealer may have to order the key though :(

My key wasn't in stock and had to come from france or some s**t :(

Just a thought, it may be cheaper to get fishing for your old key :)
You never know once dried out/battery replaced if needed it may work.

Incidentally, if you were to go to an auto locksmith and just get a key that will manually unlock and start the car (without c/locking code), would this then activate the alarm when unlocking manually?

My dad's old car would remember if it had been locked by remote or key-in-door and then if you tried to unlock with an alternative method, would sound the alarm.

This happen with Clio's?
