Re: Finally.

The dealer shots are immense, they deal in proper pristine cars. Great example!

Re: Finally.

There shall indeed be videos!

It is very different to the ST to drive. Everything is tighter, sharper and more focused, brakes, steering, throttle response. The LSD makes a huge difference in terms of grip out of roundabouts etc. Not that the ST is a bad car, just that the RS makes it feel more of a cruiser in comparison.

Cheers, I agree, no point trying to be subtle in a car which looks like something I'd doodled in my maths jotter in high school!

Yaldy?

Got it from Parkway Specialist Cars in Mansfield on Nottingham road, a LOT of nice cars in there!

Looks great mate. I had my WR1 from Parkway and they were very good. Replaced the gear syncro on mine under warranty no problems. Enjoy it
Just another point on the dealer, I don't know if they were the same with you but they let me take the car on a test drive on my own? Didnt treat me like some young lad just there for a quick spin which gave me confidence in purchasing from them.

Re: Finally.

Thanks again all for the comments. The dealers pictures are much better than my crappy iphone ones, it's also in as good condition as it looks in the photos and how it's described, would highly recommend buying from them. My ST is up on their site now too.

JCC do you know where the previous owner was from? I swear the pictures on the dealers website are taken in my home towns graveyard in Wales!

Nah not in Wales mate, the graveyard is next to one of the dealer owner's house in Mansfield.

Exact same with me, gave me and my mate the keys and told me where to take it a run. I did worry I'd turn up to some dodgy place to look at a shed but everything was spot on. As I've said really, can't fault the service from them.

Yeah, I realised that after I saw all of the cars on the website in the same location

Although it has given me an idea for some new photos :approve:

Car looks awesome too!

Re: Finally.

^ Cheers!

Nice upgrade, considering a focus st for my next car.

They're good cars, I had a lot of fun in mine, especially since it was my first experience of boost and mild tuning etc.

They need mapped and eibachs as a minimum though, totally different car after that.

Re: Finally.

The standard ST is quite boring I found. I bought an MP260 and love it. I'd like to move upto an RS eventually in a year or 2. Hope the RS treats you well!

Re: Finally.

Thanks folks! Fitted Eibachs and the Milltek to it this afternoon and love it even more. The noise it makes now is utterly nuts LOL.

They do come alive with some modifications, I ran bluefin stage 2 with supporting bits and it was totally different to the standard car. Cheers!

Re: Finally.

There is a few of us on here now.

I've had mine just over month and love it. Looks a great example, its the same spec and mileage except I have PB.

Very jealous of the immediate mods! Exhaust/Remap/Intercooler/Springs/Spaces are all on my wish list int he next 6 months.

Re: Finally.

I should btw! My 2 favourite things was fast cars and hosing birds, now i cant do any of them!

Tyres > Tits. Maybe.

Have to say I loved your ST. Though the RS is a different ball game altogether. Well played sir.

Cheers mate, I did too!

Awesome cars aren't they? Intercooler/map/recirc/inlet are on my immediate shopping list, not too bothered about spacers, looks good just on the Eibachs!

Love these @Red Cup has one and its immense!

One of his shots of it is actually my desktop wallpaper, has been for some time!

Thanks everyone else!

Re: Finally.

So a productive weekend was spent on the RS, springs and Milltek were fitted:

Then on Sunday me and a mate in his Impreza hatch took the cars a good blast up B roads near where I live, awesome scenery and virtually empty roads made for a good drive! Snapped a few very shitty quick pics on my phone when we stopped

Car impressed me even more on the Eibachs on these roads, had the radio switched off the entire time due to the noise from the Milltek being a much better option to listen to. Car should be looking even better hopefully end of next month when gally gets his hands on it for a summer detail!

Re: Finally.

Superb additions! I think the Einachs are the best compromise, they always are!

The Milltek has always sounded superb on the RS, video needed?

Re: Finally.

Still not got a video of the Milltek yet, the noise just doesn't get boring!

Whats the difference in ride with the eibachs fitted?

Much improved. Strangely it's more comfortable on the eibachs than standard, still firm and responsive but less bouncy than the standard car if that makes sense. Most of RSOC seem to agree, the standard car is quite stiff as you know.

No brainer for the handling and looks benefit really, as with most Ford approved upgrades.

Re: Finally.

Had the car on the rollers at another BeTapp'd RR day yesterday, couple of crappy shaky videos to give a rough idea of the noise it makes with the Milltek!

Car made 299bhp on the rollers, so a nice strong base to start messing with maps and more serious modifications, which will hopefully come soon!

Have to say, the noise was still completely outshone and outclassed by Al's (Moby) C63 and Chic's (R20 CWH) E60 M5 with Eisenmann? exhaust

The noise they make is spine tingling. Can't be good for fuel consumption though, the urge to step on the go pedal all the time must be difficult to resist. lol

Is that a resonated or non resonated system? I'm thinking of putting a resonated system on my T5, but don't want it to be noisy.

It is indeed, sounds like a shotgun going off on gear changes when properly booting it too. Going through tunnels with the windows closed is impossible!

Non-resonated with an erm, extremely free flowing cat ;) I'd expected a resonated cat back only to be perfectly civilised.

I'm decatted too, milltek downpipe and decat, but then std Volvo system. I't really holding it back at the minute.

Forgot to add, I also fitted a Group A K&N induction set up with dry sock:

002_zps078147bb.jpg

It's the size of my f**king head and makes a load of sucking/wooshing/chattery noises when coupled with the uprated recirc valve I also fitted the same day, satisfying the chav in me once again.

The Thunderstorm to me is the decatted Yozza of the RS world, nice for a weekend toy but a bit much for a daily drive! I also don't like the tips on the Thunderstorm, too big for my liking and lose the style of the OEM ones.

Our of interest, what does a FRS weigh?

Just under 1500kg according to Parkers, which could be wrong.

Noise wise or power wise? I think even a resonated system will be on the loudish side with a decat, although it depends what your definition of loud is.

Sounds lovely! I'm looking at a milltek ultimate for my ST sometime soon.

I was going to go for the Ultimate version then decided after trawling through youtube videos that the normal version would be loud enough for me!

KMS is only about 2 miles from me, see plenty of these now. Also see plenty of flames too. Awesome things.
