IMHO it doesn't look that powerful, but I would suggest buying second hand gear off here, much cheaper and I have bought 3 subs and 6 amps over the time and they all work (not just for me friends aswell) Plus the more important bit would be the floor your making, I had a 300w sub in a great shape box and it sounded ace, take my fancy 1000w one out the box and it sounds pathetic!

il be calculating the sizes it needs to be, so should sound good
not just sticking it in a whole of wood!

JL stuff is very good quality. I am looking at getting one of these as well. Get a correctly sized box and this will be louder than a lot of other more expensive systems.
