Welcome back [emoji16]
Nice to see a Ph1 alive and kicking , and on 166k . How long you had it ?

Since April mate, had quite a lot sorted on it mechanical wise, tackling the front end is my next job as it's stone chipped to high heaven and finding titanium silver ph1 parts are like hens teeth :(

Recently just had the timing corrected and had the engine comp checked and it fired 170psi on the cylinders so for 166k that isn't bad so go for it buddy! But yeah the bodywork is pretty decent on it minus the front end sadly

Mine hit 165bhp earlier in the year, altho the paintwork is rubbish
Only done 89k miles, on a March 2001 plate, one of the last Phase 1's in Iceberg
Love it!

Not bad figures ! That would be worth good money

1 of 99 originally too.

Lot less now, I broke the same mileage one a few years ago and I bet I wasn't the first or last.

Miss that car.

nice, love a phase 1, sort the headlights and your stonechips and she'll be mint.

mine just clocked 150k other day and still runs a dream, had the injectors cleaned and on run to Cambridge and back other day returned 48mpg :)

@Dr Jekyll I've also killed an iceberg..................oops!

Icebergs do look good when clean, even better in the rain for some reason. looks gleaming
Was gonna plastidip it gunmetal next year, wonder if I should reconsider

Gotta get thru a nice cheapMOT first, then Cambelt, so better get saving :)

Chap I bought it off said it was worth more broken, but I love the little roller skate

Paintwork is really poor in some areas tho, even got worse since I bought it a year ago. Not sure I fancy repsraying iceberg silver

Yours has a ncie clean engine bay without like it has too much effort or things being removed and a mega clean or a recent strip down and paint.
166k miles......Mine was on 177k when I sold it and it was solid, I could see it going to >200k if I had kept it, although I was about to get a full engine rebuild on it ready for ITBs! Just couldn't justify the cost. Returned >45mpg on motorway journeys, never dipped below 38mpg when I used it for work every day. Hope yours lasts as long and well as mine did.
Nice to see one being saved. I'll have another one day

And by all means she's no concourse car but she does get looked after even if I go a bit OTT with some polish [emoji23]

I've just clocked 179,000 miles yesterday in my PH1, and she's still going strong.
Oil change every 6,000 miles, and kiss her ever day.
Best I've had was 201,068, but think this one will beat that easy.

That's blinding mate, I'm probably going to be on the search for another engine soon, rebuild it with mainly OEM Parts barring super tech valves and some ARP bits and bobs

I keep thinking I should start looking for another engine just in case, but this one has been driven hard most of its life and just keeps going.
Had the belts done in 2015 at Rentec in Portsmouth, and Mike said it's a fast old lump.
Think I'll wait for it to start to die then get a rebuild done "250,000 miles or so lol"

Yeah don't bother till it goes bang to be fair! I'll just slowly build the engine over time as my current engine isn't showing any signs of giving in anytime soon haha !

Mine held up fantastic round Lydden yestday. 6.5-7k revs most of the time and Jeeeees- how much petrol is used on a track day
Took on Mitsubishi's, Civic R's, loadsa Mini's, beat the lot and kept going. Even drove 100 miles home no bother
Love it (Its the kiss every day Dawgtired that seals the love :)

mine leads such a soft life, never raced or rallied, lol! crawl around in 5th gear and completely ignore any barry boys trying to 'av a go' lol!

Sounds like mine I drive the Ph1 like a grandma, don't know why other than self preservation, the cup on the other hand get's a regular blast

That looks really smart, getting so rare these days as said above and especially in that colour, it's nice to see this and hear of the others still going strong too especially with such high miles, great stuff

A lad round here had a silver Phase 1 that was really nice with low miles, bar a few dings here and there and a flocked dash, it was for sale and I was tempted to buy it but didn't and got my 182 instead... couldn't believe the person who did eventually buy it ended up breaking it ffs, that was another gone!
