Juddering on full lock....

Thanks to CS my previous problem has been solved and as you were so helpfully id thought id ask you opinion on another niggle.

My car is lowered 40mm on springs, when on full lock(sometime not even 'full' lock) i get a juddering feeling inside the car. Tyres have good tread and im sure it didnt do it for a few months after i lowered it, just started around a month ago :S

Ok so this is getting worse, i woke the mrs pulling off the drive this morning apparently. Does anybody have any ideas?

It basically happens when im moveing slowly but turning sharply, ie.into car parking spaces. It feels like the front of the car is almost sliding out, like the camber is way off or somthing?

i think its to do with running 205 tires because im running 195s and don't have the problem anymore

205 is the standard tyre size so shouldnt be an issue. Sounds asif there's a balljoint or wheel bearing really far gone but you'd feel it when driving. Can you feel the steering wheel moving too or does it just sound like the wheels themselves are moving independantly?

It cant be the tyres because i havnt changed the tyres and its only started doing it recently. Gonna have a look at it today, tighten the top mounts, top up the powersteering fluid and check ball joints, ARB etc, ill report back with any findings. Maybe its the 40mm drop as yous is the same isnt it Tom?

you need to fit special washer on top mounts of the suspension , yozza's selling them for £10 , or better option but more expensive soild top mounts from k-tec for about £170 .

Update:

Found out what the problem was.Basically the CV boots are made of plastic instead of rubber and so are quite stiff and the clips that Renault use are crap.

This had resulted in both of my CV boots having popped off both sides, the grease having dried up and starting to squeek and make the car judder on full lock. Upon a reccomendation of a garage next to my step dads unit(who apparently does loads of theses, another common clio problem) i bought some big jubilee clips and a tub of grease(£4)

I cleaned them out, packed them full of grease and wacked on the heafty clips. They aint going anywhere now and the problem has gone away.;)

Funny you say that Ash one of my CV boots has come off cause i got the grease all inside the wheel. Getting it sorted friday so hop that sorts it then
