Just clayed the car

Feels soooooo efing smooth now just like glass! Can see the metallic really really well now more then ever. washed before and after claying then polished and waxed by hand after. -40mm apex suspension will be here this week so will be fitted very very very soon so last time you will see it on stilts

easyer then i thought, filled the pot i got with the clay (thanks 7MAT) with hot water and left the peice of clay in there the soften up and got a spray bottle and filled it up with hot water with loads of car shampoo in it. Then when i was ready i sprayed the pannel loads with the shampoo mix to lube it up and rubbed it with the clay gently all over until i couldnt feel any friction. But when it got dirty i just kept turning it over to a new side sooo easy and defently worth it!

I really want to do mine, I started doing the bits that get the worst a while back, but I felt like I was going to scratch the paint so I gave up

Ahh the wonders of clay. The best stuff to use as a surface lubricant is any spray detailer or fast wax (liquid not aerosol).
Most Clay kits come with a spray but once it runs out just use another similar product.

Deb if you don't fancy doing it yourself, let me know and i'll bring some along to the next meet you come to and i'll do it for you.....really is easy though. You won't hurt the paint in any way.
You just need to use plenty of spray to make sure the clay slides smoothly.

Yeah sure! I actually enjoy doing it. Knowing your car it prob won't have much in the way of bonded contaminants on it to start with but if its as clean as it was at the last meet then i can clay the bits you want done.
