just got a cup spoiler...advice on spraying..

Just sourced myself a well priced Cup spoiler, which is Arctic Blue. the 182 i am getting is Racing blue, so obviously we need to sort this out!

few questions:

1.) do you think it possible to make a good job of spraying this DIY with paint from halfords or the like?
2.) what sort of prep would be needed as it is already painted?
3.) What would be a good price to get it sprayed properly @ a bodyshop?
4.) Racing Blue: is not a metalic colour, is it?, therefore would you need to lacquer once the colour has been sprayed?

I have sprayed bits before, namely side strips and made a good job of that, i dont know whether a spoiler is a bridge too far?

anyone can answer any of the above for me i would be very greatful.

thanks

Don't do it yourself mate. And a decent bodyshop will charge at least £100

With the work required as Clart has mentioned a GOOD bodyshop will charge a minimum of £100

Prep work etc...

Give it a bash yourself if you feel confident only!

Otherwise it will be a waste of time/money and materials.

If your in the midlands, my contactat Land Rover will do it for beer. 4 crates of Coors got my Cup spoiler sprayed. lol.

I can't see it costing £100. I had my whole bumper sprayed by a Renault Specialist bodyshop, including removing the bumper, and it only came to £150........

From what quotes ive had etc... and what people have done on the forum id say £100 for spoiler is very reasonable.

£150 for bumper is a good price....rear??

If its the front bumper then thats a bargain!!! A good bodyshop charges at least £200 to do front bumper respray, lots of work to prep etc..
