oh, since were on the topic of Satelite facilitated global positioning and navigational systems id like someone in the know to inform me of the various options. What im wanting is a PDA based system that i can use in a cradle in the car and also if i wanted to, use outside the car. Also if the PDA would be used as an actual PDA that would be great. Anyone with information on the subject id be happy to hear from you.

i got one of them medion thingys from ALDI cost me £280 with pda 512mb card and in car kit, works with POI software so i can detect cameras etc pretty much a bargain
does loads of stuff out of the car like apointments and other crappy pda stuff. i can pick my email up when im in the car and sign onto msn messenger

lol the tom tom go looks good, has uses 1 in his clio, and used it in a golf and managed to make a 10 min journey take 2-3 hours.

so right lets see here. I understand most of this but the one thing that still gets me is this. everyone here talks about having a wired gps reciever. now obviously choose that over bluetooth because of price but why not get a CF gps reciever if the ipaq has a CF slot?

Was wondering where the cheapest place was that youd found? The lowest price Ive seen so far was £430.

£430 isnt bad, I pay £406 inc vat from a trade distributor although they are hard to get hold of as are very popular.
