Just got my RB182 CUP

  R26
As the thread says, i got my RB182 Cup yesterday, and im in instant love (L) The car is immaculate outside and in, amazing service history, only one previous owner from new. 42K. Even came with a spare Anthracite Cup Wheel wrapped in a PE2 as he didnt like the foam pack idea :) Also an amazing price.

I have one question though, when i put my foot down and the powerband kicks in, the car kinda doesnt stay in a straight line, swerves to the right then left, the car has all brand new PE2's on which im presuming will be why or is this normal?

Also as its done this many miles ive noticed the exhaust is looking abit on the rusty side, is this about the time to be getting a new one? Yozza is the one im after, just gotta wait for him to get back.

Anyway im going to get my girlfriend to take some pictures for me tomorrow so i can get them posted up for you lot to have a gander :)

Cheers in advance, Stu

The swerving will be torque steer, if its realy bad might be worth having the tracking checked.

Glad your happy with it.

Yeah that did cross my mind, i had a TwingoRS before this so im not used to the difference in power/torque yet :) Well the car has just come out of the dealers garage so i hoped that they would have tracked it already but i may get it checked :) cheers for that, and yeah i couldnt be happier!

exhaust wise, you have a few choices yozza, miltek, janspeed, everyone has differnet views, its down to what you want really! yozza is the loudest i think though!

On a smooth and level road the car shouldn't pull about too much. It has equal length drive shafts and low-ish torque. Should accelerate straight and true. If it's on a bumpy/cambered surface or a road that has sunk where trucks drive frequently then it will be all over the shop...same in any FWD car.

It's a problem up here as many of our roads are really bumpy and the car will put up quite a fight in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears. It's fine on anything smooth though, just picks up speed without fuss.

Think carefully about the exhaust, I just did 1114miles round trip to London and I thank my lucky stars my exhaust isn't loud!
