Just removed the washers from under the seat (cool story bro thread)

Just thought I'd throw a thread up to disclose my findings haha.

This morning I removed the 15mm washers under both seats and replaced with standard 2(?)mm washers.

What a difference! It now feels so good to sit in as like others have said I now feel like I'm sat in the car and not on top of it. Genuinely feels like I'm in a nice car now.

I'm just posting this incase others haven't done it already (I only found out about it the other day) as I would fully recommend it. Feel a bit stupid as I have been driving the car standard all that time!

Do it.

All underneath, two near the sill under rubber grommits and two in the exhaust tunnel.

I did this on mine recently, but didn't bother with putting replacement washers in, lovely and low and still slides easily.

Is the exhaust in the way at all, or can you get straight to the bolts? I've never looked!

For me my exhaust fouled the hole on the offside as the exhaust mount as broken meaning it's sitting to one side a bit more. This meant I couldn't just put the socket and extension straight up into the hole.

So to solve the issue, instead of putting the socket on the extension bar fully which allowed no movement I put it on slightly so that the ball bearing didn't locate in the socket fully. Then simply undid it and tightened it that way. A somewhat make shift ball ended allen key style if that makes sense?

Sounds as though it could get messy? Why on earth have Renault secured them from underneath the car!

It's fine really. But please please use axle stands as you have to literally go underneath the centre of the car. Absolutely f**k everything about a jack failing whilst under there.

What size washers did you use? Diameter not thickness as I see that is 2mm
