Morning all,

New member here. Site looks great! Bit of a self confessed petrol head. Never owned a Renault sport and feel I may be missing out.

Have sold my latest toy, a mk3 focus RS in nitrous blue having only done 1500 miles in 18months. Car was low mileage and just turned into a garage queen as did my car before that. Haven’t replaced with anything and was thinking on either a 182 in a loud colour or a 197 to use as a weekend toy and occasional fun track day toy.

What do we reckon fits the bill to meet the above? What kind of things do I need to be looking out for?

Hi I just did the same, German cars all my life. Just sold my Z4M roadster and bought a Inferno Clio 182. I can't stop grinning when I drive it and when I buy parts for it

My plans for it are the same as yours, I deceided the 182 was the one for me. I'm a sucker for an Orange Car which may have also swayed me a little too.

Welcome. 182's are great cars and good ones are getting harder and more expensive. A loud colour adds to the price too these days! The mk3 197/200 was reviewed as a step back from the 182 because the extra weight dulled the meagre power increase, however they handle that tiny bit better. They aren't without issues though so do your research. Early 197's are good value compared to 182's at the moment.

very nice, what colour z4m did you have? When I bought my RS4 a long time ago I considered a Z4M coupe however ended up with the RS4 for a bit extra practicality. Lovely cars though.
How does the little clio compare? I’m also drawn to a loud colour. Previously had an electric orange focus ST and most recently a nitrous blue RS.

cheers mate, my mate has just picked up a 200 silverstone. Lovely looking car, not been out in it yet but he seems to be enjoying it so far.
Not in any real rush to get something. I work away from home so don’t need a car for commuting, just a toy. I have an old mk2 escort RS2000 aswell but it’s in bits just now. Been installing a Cosworth YB turbo in it but has been a slow process

Monaco Blue Z4m, Solar Orange TT RS and Inferno Orange Clio. The Clio stacks up very well against the german stuff I have had, really good fun for a nd b road blasts. I love driving it !
