Anyone got a K&N 57i induction kit on a 1.2 16V clio? im thinking of ordering one tomorrow and just want to hear peoples feedback on noise, im not bothered about power gains but if i get any then that would be nice :)

anyone got any sound clips or videos with theirs?

cheers

People say you loose power, but i noticed a gain on my 1.2 8v mk1, wihtone on.

Ok its not ideal, ideally an enclosed oen would be best.

try gettign a long length of pipe and relocating it dnw behind the front bumper or somewhere.

Will geta bit of noise, but not a massive amount from a 1.2

the K&N 57i fitted to the 1.2 16v will give you a DROP in power but a noticeable increase in noise. I keep taking mine off then putting it back on the off again as I want the noise then get fecked off with the drop in power.

1.2 16v not that quick obviously but i do think mines nippy, with the kit on it seems to lose a fair bit of that nippy ness. I have a pipe ducting cold air up but with aircon fitted relocating the actual filter down to the grille is pretty hard.
If you did that then maybe it would be ok but ...well silicone tubing is stupid expensive!!

is a nice sound tho! hehe

k&n will be ok it will still suck hot air in even though it has a cold air feed.
you can pic 2nd hand vipers up off ebay for £100 that would be a better bet

yeah i was looking at the relocation kit but i dont have a lot to spend, what about fitting a pannel filter and drilling the air box ive heard about that but can it do my engine any harm? what will the noise be like compaired to the K&N?

because like noel-pilot i also find my 1.2 16V nippy and dont want it any slower

ive got one on my 1.2, as noel said its more sound then power, ive taken my off a few times and by god is was f**kin quicker lol, but i missed the growl

so is this point in getting an induction kit for 1.2 16v if our looking for power. rather than noise, or is it just k an n filters.??

Dont drill the airbox! Just drop the k&n panel filter in and get a decent cold airfeed from the behind the grille on the drivers side of the car, job done.
