k&n fitting, please help

i have just got and fitted my k&n on my 1.4 rt spi, did anyone else have the same problem as i did of getting the rubber underside to sit exactly flat level with the metal base, mine doesnt look totally flat do you think this will make that much difference.

mine isnt totally flat, it took me ages to get it on, i tightened up the junilee clip and it just poped off, you need to make sure the jubilee clip is pushed rihgt down to the bottem, and try to get it as flat as possible
