k&N or Pipercross

I went down my local motorworld today to get a price for an induction kit for my 1.4 16v clio, i havent got a massive budget (up to £150) and for a K&N 57i it was £90 and a pipercross for £80 which he reccomended. Ive heard a kn and sounds pretty good but have never heard the pipercross, (the main reason i want one is for the sound), but i dont want it to be too lound and deep. I know that these will not give me much gains (if any) but does anyone know which would be the best option.

Rumour has it pipercross if you like the sound of wasps in a biscuit tin.

A biscuit tin with a standard filter inside is an even cheaper option.
