as above i understand that k tec coilovers are not the best but i dont really wont to spend x amount on a good set of coilovers as my car will never see a track and dont wont stiff suspension so my question is is there any point in buying second hand trophy suspension and gettin them refurbed keeping what i own or just slap the cupped suspension back on sorry for the essay let me no what u think cheers in advance

Hi shrewsbury person!

When one of my shocks goes i'm gonna replace all 4 and get some eibachs.

Just get a set of Eibach springs on the standard suspension. I loved that on my car for road use, but on track it didnt quite cut it, but as you wont be on track, coilies are not essential. The KTEC cheap stuff is just for people who want to lower their car for looks with no regard to handling.

I had sportline and liked them very much.

Although I think the saying is , sport for show - pro for go.

They quite often come up here second hand, so keep and eye out, or do a wanted of them.

coilovers are much better than springs and not that much more than springs really. With springs you are stuck with the same ride hight coilovers can change to almost any height or lowness you want, more for your money and the ride isnt that bad really have a seach and look at what people said about them. Coilovers was the best modification ive every done its a must on all furture cars for me :D

All true but crap coilovers can be worse than a good spring and shock set up. If your looking for coilovers for track etc then KW, H&R, AST, are the brands you should look at if it's just looks them ktec, vmaxx etc.

I got h&r coilies and they're awesome, I'm only ever on the road too. They're not too hard or soft, and the ride hight is low enough for good handling but high enough speedbumps aren't a problem

More sporty?

I'm all about the way it drives, and around the evo triangle no way could i go anywhere near as fast around it.

as above i would rather it handle than it look (sporty) i might just raise the height on the coilovers first and see how it goes from there

the car will handle 110% better in the corners on coilovers. The car will have a much lower centre of gravity this mean you wont have hardly any body roll which will improve speeds that you can enter corners = being faster, having stiff suspension is to help with the body roll and keep the car level and try to counteract body roll which is improving the way the car will handle in the corners, Springs are very basic and will lower you a few mm and stiffen the car abit but for a little more money your car will be a million times better on coilovers simples :approve:

I agree on silky smooth roads, but around Wales / where I live is anything but.
