K-tec Exhaust!!!

hey all just wanted to know if this particular exhaust is any good and whether or not my insurance will go up loads as im a young and healthy driver!!! much appreciated of course with the the twin 3" exit!!!!

Have a Ktec on my Ph1 172, sounds good and fit is good, think their qaulity can vary though, mines been on 2 years and no problem at all, good note to it too till you get over 4.5k then a tad boomy.

if you get this exhaust, make sure you get it cut into the bumper, looks so much better.
as for the insurance, if you declare (which i would if i was you) it will go up!
Not sure how much it will go to be honest, its varys though, would be worth ringing your insurance company and asking them.

Got a k-tec on mine, great exhaust and didnt increase insurance! They said only changing the engine performance with things like cams, chip etc increases. Prob aint the same for all insurance companies though. Ring up and check first

so the k-tec exhaust is a good buy i take it??!!! well im with Tesco insurance and will give them a ring later to see what happens to the insurance!!! if you have any pics of your exhaust please post them up cheers

The k-tec on a 1.2 pops and bangs like a *****...I had one loved it!!! Sounds even beta on a 172... Don't listen to folk moaning about quality.

ok then, did you have the k-tec with the k2 exit on your old clio ajrmotorsport, and did your insurance go up by much?? still not sure to let it sit under the bumper or cut into it??? i really liked your old 1.2 if its the one im thinking off shame it had to go cheers

Got a K-tec Stealth on my 172 and I'm very pleased with it....nice, tuned exhaust note and not too loud

k-tec zorsts are great, unless you get a hidden tail pipe, i think they look better cut in!

Dont listen to him, k-tec make the exhausts to fit your car without the need for you to cut into the bumper! It has a great fit and as other people have said, I too love mine!

imo i prefer cut in, but thats my opinion nothing wrong with having them hang though.

ajketley - thats cool then, mine made my insurance go up £80 but im with elephant with no no-claims and on a 172cup

aye ive had 2 ktec exhausts (1 on my mk1 and now 1 on my mk2) and both have been excellent

Tell your insurance its a styling mod and not a preformance enhancment ( which on a 1,2 it virtually wont be )

that way your get away with the minimum of modification charge for declaring it.

also wiggz-if you say your putting a cat back system on (which k-tecs are) the insurance companies know that its not a styling mod. You shouldnt get a large increase if anything at all!
