It looked fantastic! Well done K-Tec.

I wish i had took more pictures of it... Dave, Mark and I were admiring it for a while! Proper job.

Drive in/Drive out fitment too. Any idea of real gains? The site says 30bhp increase.

I've emailed them for more details... just a thought.

Anyone else know more about it on here? Thoughts?

Looks good!

Be interesting to see how it works out cost wise with the GDI ITBs (assuming you spec the wilder cams etc).

Something I would love to do with mine, but the sensible side of me is telling me to save for something faster out the box.

Agreed, looks so so much tidier than the other installs there, no birds nest, heatshrinked and connecter blocked wiring and cable ties holding everything in place and a proper catch tank.

You need the white cam cover and ITB's in your life Cwissy.....

Agreed.

Real alternative to DC5 ownership though? Hmm.

Quicker than one, cheaper to insure and tax, no more outlay......

it looked like a good kit. short trumpets, so im not sure how much tourqe they will give? smaller radiator would be a good idea with it too. i need a good read up on it. considering tb's :)

LOL! Indeed!

Shorter trumpets will make less torque, but when you have an airbox on them anyway, it'll make less of a difference and it looks a hell of a lot tidier. Whats 5 bhp on a road car? Juts make it up in the bends with you HUGE testicles.

Nice one for the link guppy, was clio_il trying to say that the k-tec ones will be making less power than the gdi (which given they were cheaper, i would expect anyway!)

not to sure tbh. with either kit your not getting cams with the packages but are worthwhile mod if you do TB it imo. think they're both very simular just depends on which garage (gdi up north-k-tec down south) is closer.
also you see alot more cars with the gdi kit than the k-tec but am unsure weather this is due to the fact that gdi have been doing TB kits for longer? am sure someone with more knowledge on the facts will be along to get the facts straight for you matey:)

Exactly.

The coil pack bracket could be better, but it looks neat and tidy which is the main thing. Its for a road car FMP, not a track car so looks are just as important.

I realise you have that bracket though ;)

  Mk2 172
They look sh*t hot to me and look like there supposed to be there. No panels cut about and no stupid cable ties everywhere as if someone at uni had done it in there lunch hour. Like the idea of keeping the aircon too. 210 bhp ish sounds good too :)

  ITB'd 182...
k-tec claim that you can drive in and out in a day and have bodies fitted. would that include the omex set up or you think you would have to retun or go to have them set up elsewhere? as they say a quick map to get you up and running?

M

mini-valver

They'll put a base map on it but you want it live mapped after really.....

thats good. have cams fitted at same time so your cam belt will be changed, another plus point, but with fitting and labour and live mapping and bits and pieces maybe i would be better off with the gdi kit price wise?
