K-tec quickshift

was thinking about fitting one of these to tighten thing up as the gear change feels a little rubbery. Has any one fitted one and would they recomend one.

havent got one but they are supposed to quicken the gearchange up by about 30%.

i remember one bloke from another forum saying it was well worth the money he paid.

yeh taht was my next question. I spend all week fixing aircraft ,the last thing i need i a head ache at the weekends trying to fit this

take about an hour tops by all accounts. disconnect and undo the old one, pull it out, fit in new one and connect it up. job done

sounds a doddle..... which usually means 4 hours of cursing and swearing and skinned knuckles:)

well i hope not lol

Its SO easy to fit!!!!! Ive got one (not on a 172 unfortunatley)

Jack the car up, remove exhaust heat sheild directly under gear linkage (4nuts)

undo bolt on bottom of linkage

using long nose pliers or circlip pliers, remove large circlip

pull old linkage out

put new linkage in

replace all the part above!!!!
