k-tec strut braces done!!

Look what arrived in the post yesterday. Fitted them last night but not enough light for good photos so waited for this evening and still not good light. But here are the pics anyway, now need to clean and polish it all up this weekend if weather allows.

Rear one bolted straight on no problems whatever. Some issues with the front one fouling on the ECU mount. Luckily my ECU bracket was broken anyway and someone had cable tied it in. So was able to bend it down so that the brace sat down nicely. It's held on with the four self tappers provided with the brace. All in all took about 30 minutes. Although the front one had been modified by the previous owner as he couldn't get it to fit properly for the same problem I had.

Renault Boy: Feels more surefooted in corners, although not realloy pushed it yet as only driven to work and back.

Andy 1.2: Thanks a lot, waited a long time for it as it was being done for me by a painter as a favour and he was given free rein. Said he won't do another one as he spent too long on it getting the paint right.

To make the car handle better. They stiffen up the chassis to prevent body flex.

Peejay - they looks nice, your engine bay looks sweet. Loads different from the norm on here.

  Golf R soon...
I spot a Monkey!...Nice engine bay you have there! :D

The rear one looks good as well, make sure you don't bang your head on it as you pull out the weekly shop ;)

what happens in the unlikely event of a crash if you have strut braces on the car?

to they twist the chassis, make the mess out of the engine bay, suspension etc ?
