karcher foam lance

  '02 1.2l 16v Clio Expres.
If you have the money to spare its best to go for an autobrite HD lance and some super snow foam. After this advice being told time and time again, i decided i didnt have the money to spare and bought that one and some halfords value 5l shampoo to put in it giving a total cost of £18. Thats less than half the cost of the HD lance. And to be honest it probably isnt as good, but it certainly works brilliantly, it just doesnt provide AS thick a foam as an AB lance would! I just need to find a good shampoo once i have a wee bit on money to spare.

once u buy the foam lance do u just atach it to the hose pipe. or do u need to buy a full on pressure washer ie a karcher

The foam lance you posted about from Halfords is an attachment for Karcher pressure washers . It's not a stand alone product you can attach to a hose pipe .

and when you've foamed the car do you rinse it then do the 2 bucket method or do u wash the car straight onto thhe foam using 2 bucket method?

I pressure wash the car first to loosen any dirt , then i use the high pressure foam , quick rinse then foam again and proceed with the 2 bucket method .

The second one didn't open but I presume its the AB Clean Max shampoo? If so both sound fine.

Any kind of decent foam or pre-wash is bound to remove at least some dirt etc, which means there is less chance of marring when washing with a mitt.
So yes I would say it is worth it, and plus it is so much fun!

is it best to wash the car with 2 bucket method whilst the foam is still on the car?? Or do you need to rinse it off first?

Like aceface says . The more dirt you can get off before you attack it with a washmitt the better . Then you've less chance of scratching the paintwork .

I never wash my car without first pressure washing it , then foaming it .

Like i said in my earlier post . I powerwash as much dirt of as possible , then high power foam it , leave to dwell a while to help soften any dirt , then power wash that off just with water , then foam again and continue with the washmitt and 2 bucket method .

It might sound like a bit of overkill , but for the sake of a few minutes extra and piece of mind that i've removed as much crap as possible thats how i prefer to do it anyway.

Very much agree.

And for all the Super Spray haters out there, just used it again this morning and I'm still impressed with it - Snow Foam + Hot Water combo seems to produce as much soap as some of the Karcher and Foam Lance effects I have seen posted on here and DW, although still getting the AB Foam Lance soon (although I think its a rip off for what it is).

Too much! Probabl costs a tenner in materials at most, and I doubt much R&D was necessary either!

ye is expensive but it on offer at the moment so if you ever buy it do it now.

Yeah maybe but might look for one on eGay or something...can't afford it right now going back to uni this weekend anyway so can't use it there anyway. Cheers for the heads up though anyways.

£41.50+pp :S - rather make love to a duck i think you can probs pick up a checp pressure washer for that these days

Yeah, its basically some metal pipe, a plastic water bottle and some appropriate bits to hold it together. Not like there are any patented parts or anything in it either. I want it, but think its a rip off to be quite frank.
