Keep the 1.2 or not??

  A Fcukin Car
I have had my 1.2 Dynamique for about a month now and I do like it but I really want somthing with bigger balls!!

I would love somthing faster and am wondering if it is worth paying more on insurance and having a better car or keeping what I have got and doing it up.

I have only been driving since May and am only 22 so I can't really go too crazy. I only pay £603 fully comp at the moment but with the mods I have in mind it is going to up that. But should I get more driving expirience before getting a better car.

What should I do?

imo, get the experience and a couple more years no claims first before you go crazy on a really quick car thats (kinda) what i did

It's not that slow, if you we're thinking of something a little quicker you could always go for a 1.4 or a 1.6 for a couple of years.

TBH Thought I would stick with the 1.2 for at least a year.

Would it be worth me doing anything to it if I am only gona keep him for a year?

Probably not as you'll never get your money back on any mods.

But if it makes you happy then why not!? :)

Sorry ^^ not much help :(

You could always do mods that you are able to swap over if you do get a different one, like the Superturismos.

If you were thinking about getting a 172/182 eventually the turismos would go on that :)

Seen as though i know you very well and some might say you are abit dizzy, I would recommend keeping your car for a couple of years then getting a faster one, coz you are still learning at the min love, same as me and ive been driving a year!! you could just do some improvements to it like colour coding, better wheels and lights, you dont have to go mad and spend money you wont get back, i'm not doing anything else to mine coz at the end of the day it's only 1.2 dynamique, it looks how i want it to look, then 2 years i'll be 25 3years no claims i can get my 182, i'm not saying you do the same but it's a good car, serves the purpose and a cheap way of building no claims and gaining experience,

What do you mean by slow anyway, didnt you see when i was doing 120 on the way to blackpool with 5 in and a full boot!!

Yours is faster after having the oxygen sensor and throtte postion thing changed. Mine is too slow of the mark.

I dont think that has made much difference, When i first got it is was sooooo slow, the woman before me drove it like a b1tcth, I have made it fast by ragging it, i can do yours too if you want!!

I would say wait until you have a tiny bit more experience then go for something bigger.
Are you sure that insurance deal is that good. I am paying £600 for 10months on a 2.3 V5 Golf and im 21 with a £7k fault claim a few months ago on my 328i Sport which only was costing me £1k when I was 20!

My tip is experement getting quotes, some cars will suprise you how cheap they are to insure. Often bigger more powerfull cars are cheaper to insure as they are not driven by younger people (dispite what I did), where as Hot Hatches are normally mega expense due to young people crashing them and being good to nick.
When I was 20 quotes on a 2.7 Bi Turbo Audi S4 were the same cost as a 182. A3's 1.8T are cheap to insure and would be a good step up without being unruly, another odd thing is that while quoted £700 for 10 months on the Audi, the same engine in a Seat Leon would cost well over a grand. I would recomend E36 BMW's, they are cheap to insure for great luxury and plenty of grunt, but I kinda proved that twitchy cars with 2.8 engine and LSD need a bit more experience.

It cant be faster it's the same car, you only need to take it on a good run on the motorway, it wont hurt it, I am abit more crazy than you tho, i go 80mph through stocksbridge, I'll have a go in it tonight and see if it's slower, I might be going the same way mine did!!

Also your wheels look very big from your Avatar, that will slow you down. Sound system? It all adds up when you have a 1.2
