Key fob battery?

My remote central locking doesn't work, assumed it's the battery.

Where can you get a new battery from? Are they just like watch batteries?

that's right (1220); you can buy them anywhere - think i saw some in the supermarket the other day

How easy are these batterys to fit ?

Is it just a case of taking key apart and out with old and in with new battery ?

Or do they need programmed again after new battery is inserted ?

^^^ They just slide apart .Well i say " just " slide apart . You have to apply a fair bit of pressure tbh . Old battery out , new battery in job done

What range do your key fobs work in? I have to use mine close to the Clio?

Is this a sign the battery is on it's way out?

Mine works from up to about 8 metres away at the moment, which is less than it used to. I just tried with the spare key (hardly ever used) and it worked from about 15...

Edit: I'd guess if yours are working from a ridiculously short range it must be the battery, unless there's an inherant fault in the key. A new battery will generally increase the range regardless but the extent depends on whether the key itself is defective of course!
