key wont turn in ignition

as above - went out this morning to start the car and the key wouldnt bloody turn.
tried the spare and it started - what would you say is wrong with the key i normally use

Put it next to the spare and look at the pattern, heh.

both keys look the same to me

Was the steering lock on did you move it when you tried the spare key?

yes the steering lock was on.........
i turned the wheel but nothing happened - did exactly the same with the spare but the spare started it
