Keys locked in boot clio 182 . . . please help my sisters a ding bat

  172 cup
My sis was loading some stuff into her boot and the door locks triggered some how, she had her keys in the boot and shut it. The car is now locked with the keys in the boot. And no there isn't a spare

Have access to under the bonnet if theres any way to trigger the central locking from there, any help appreciated

No way to trigger central locking from under the bonnet. Worst case = smash one of the rear windows.

Nooooo smash one of the fronts, not the rear! IIRC they are cheaper to replace. Something to do with the rears being bonded in place.

She dont have breakdown tried the metal rod to pull interior door handle just cant get enough leverage on it, also tried pressing CL button with the rod but it just slips off

Smash one of the front windows then buy a new door with glass as it's cheaper & less hassle than pissing around with other methods.

Either bend the top of the door frame out a little bit or keep persevering with pushing the central locking button or pulling the inner door handle.
The key will be to use the right tool, try a long bamboo garden cane for pushing the CL button or if going for the handle tape a coat hanger hook on the end.

I have front windows if you smash one and want to replace it. Would have to be collected from Sale, Manchester though.

i had to break into a mates car at work as he left the kets into it

any chance you can get a metal coat hanger in there and hook it around the door handle??

just enough to pop the door and you can get to the latch then surely

If you end up smashing the window, put duct tape all over it before hand. Shouldn't make as much mess and might come out in one piece if you are lucky,

My mates mate did the same thing with his TT and his local VW dealer was able to sort him out with an emergency key to open the car with. It was only plastic so could only be used a few times before it would break but it did the trick and got him into his car.
I don't know if Renault do anything similar but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

But it will take a hell of a lot more to try and break a hole big enough to do anything worthwhile plus is means your car is unusable.

Haha, thought that might be said. I have done it at work a few times you see! But as stated, pro's don't break s**t.

Am I the first one to ask, has she not got a spare set of keys?
Unless they are at home and the house keys are in the boot with the car key lol

I did this years ago, I was 40miles away from home, phoned my dad to go to my house (with the spare set of emergency house keys that I left at parents) and he picked up my spare car keys, drove to meet me and unplipped the car. Jobs a good un.
See ya later dad, I owe you a bottle of whisky.

I did same in my 172, pretty sure the central locking button on the console disables when the cars locked, least mine didn't work with a cane press and I know it pressed all the way down, I ended up getting the AA out but got close drving a wooden wedge to prise open the door then metal bar to undo the door handle, just couldt get the pressure off with wedge in the door, AA man had a special little inflatable pillow with some give in it, so worked a charm

reason mine does it is the rear sensor is fubar, so the car doesn't know the boot is open. autolock engages after however long if it doesn't think a boot/door has been opened. you can tell if this is the case by opening boot and boot light doesn't come on but if you subsequently open the door the boot light does come on ;)

I locked my keys in my Mk1 once before, on them its easy cos you can just pop the rear windows out without damage!

Im confused by your posts though; is one of the windows slightly open or something? where are you intering the 'rod'?! If the window is slightly open, can you not just force it down? or use a suction handel to grip the glass and force it up to release it from its mounts, then just let it drop down?

Raid button will be disabled.

When the Keyfob battery goes on mine I use the key to open passenger foot and the cl button works.... Does opening the door trigger something? I know it doesn't stop the alarm as it goes of until I get the key in the ignition....

The reason I say this is my key fob battery dies every 4 or 5 days!! It's got serious issues lol

Yep, if the door is open there is no need for the raid to work.

I've had to get in a couple now and it definitely doesn't work.

I once locked my keys in my mk1 Clio when I was 350 miles from home. I went around the car park and found someone driving in their kangoo. Asked if I could borrow their keys and they fitted my lock barrel perfectly.
