Kicker Comps

just been into my local ICE shop and hes recommended some Kicker components for the front of my car. Theyre 16cm so will need to trip the panel a bit. Anyone ever used Kicker stuff, and if so your feedback would be appreciated. Also if anyone else wants to comment....!

Im pleased with mine, not got components, just a set of 2 ways but the sound quality is clean and crisp. Cant fault them

honestly, kicker speakers are of a very poor quality, both in construction and sound

id think of better ways to spend similar money on a much better set of speakers

im quite sure the reason he is trying to sell kicker ice is because hes an official kicker dealer and will make more profit from selling the kicker speakers over most other brands

try different ICE dealers, they should give you an unbiased approach

note - do not visit bbg distribution dealers as they will say the same

believe who you want to believe, but as a little tip, i work as an ice installer, if that helps your choice any ;)

your best bet is go to a dealer with a cd of what you listen to. put it in as many set up as they have got and listen, buy which ever sounds best to you.

ive done installs worth thousands and some that cost hundreds and unless your going flatlining in sq competions your average listener cant tell the difference, you dont have spend a fortune to have a nice system. if you like the sound of £40.00 speakers over £400.00 ones buy them. dealers will always try to make as much money as they can, its there job, just make um work for it.

thanks for ur feedback guys... bambam, if not the kickers then what dya recommend with a budget of £100. want 16cm i think (i believe thats the biggest u can go in a mk2 front door without using pods).

Ta

for £100 you can get (17cm do fit with a little work and no pods)

Phoenix Gold R6.5COMP

and

Phase Linear PC165.20

out of the two, id prefer the PL, but the PG are a very good all round speaker too

anywhere you can, i taped mine to the back of the door cards, though you can put them under the dash, in the door pockets
