Kinking roof on lowered clios

  2002 1.2 16V
I heard recently that their can be problems with the roofs of clios kinking and bending when clios are lowered too much.

Mine is lowered bout 70mm on coilovers atm and there is a small dent in the roof but thats from when i climbed out my sunroof.

Im just lookin to know if there is any truth in this and if so can it be prevented??

Cheers
Chris

1. Don't listen to the clown that told you that.

2. Don't climb out of your sunroof. Its what doors are for.

you have a dent in your roof becuase you climb out your sunroof? thats probably why then lol

My roof used to ripple due to the bass i had.

You climbed on your sunroof and it dented... maybe its because you climbed on it.

Slap the clown who said lowering your car will kink the roof.

you sould see the roof on the dynacup! LOL kinked to f**k, it had a kink in both rear corners when it was new, but i got nowhere with Renault, just lived with it, since it was dropped on its arse its got worse, but its been abused round track etc and had the odd off too ;) (oops, dam that black ice! Chris, where in N. Ireland are you from?
Before I got the coilovers for my last car a fella on RMS told me he kinked his roof after he lowered the car
But then again he did say it might of been because he hit a hump-back bridge on a mountain road at 90mph :slap:

I never had any bother with my dci down 50ish all-round
A friend of mine had a 1.2 Clio on coilovers & 18s with no problems as well - and his road is as rough as a hedgehogs arse!

when did the dynacup die? :(

+1

That car was mint when I signed up to CS!

My car was pretty low when I let my ex drive, maybe thats what kinked the roof!

No, I'm pretty sure its course the car is lowered:)

My 1.6 was kinked around the drivers side edge of the sunroof, and was on an apex kit thing its more a problem with stiff damping than the actual lowness.

iv seen kinked roofs quite alot,im suprised so many are saying they havent, though hardly ever on mk2's, mainly on mk1's , my 1st valver had it a bit, but my hybrid was terrible, proper kinked on both sides, wasn't like that when i got it, though 25k of my and my mates driving seemed to do it lol, to be fair though it spent alot of time on track, oh it was lowered about -30mm
