Hey people my 182 developed a knocking tonight, its a constant knocking that can be felt through the gearstick, when i hold the clutch down it can be heard much easier, it appears to speed up/slow down depending on how fast im going. Any ideas? thanks
Hey guys had a look at the gearbox mount and it looks ok, went under the car to look at the dogbone thing and im guessing its the twisted silver piece of metal near the gearbox? it looked ok anyway. Heres some pics and vids. Noticed that theres a load of play in the gear change thing underneath the car... anymore help or suggestions would be great - Thanks
Quick update guys heres a video of the knocking sound, surprisingly my phone has picked it up well, you can hear it much clearer when i depress the clutch which is what i did for this, as you can hear it speeds up/slows down depending how fast im going....
Back again guys, had an inkling it could be a driveshaft so i jacked her up and span the wheel a bit, hears how it sounded. If anyone knows the sound of a buggered driveshaft please let me know....
Orite guys took the car to renault today, they couldnt find the problem. They said they could clearly hear it but couldnt find a solution. They mentioned a slightly worn ball joint but said they highly doubt that it would be causing the knocking. Any more info/ideas would be great, thanks!
