Knocking noise - dodgy engine mounts?

  Silver 172 cup
Recently there has been a noise that appears to come from around the bonnet area when going over bumps and also when turning at high speeds can be kind of felt through the steering column, like a rattly squeeking noise.

Unsure of what this could be but my guesses point me towards engine mounts?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

I would be looking at the lower ball joint on the wish bone first, these can be replaced without replacing the whole wishbone, then there's the strut top mounts and inspect condition of wishbone rubbers, I wouldn't suspect an engine mount unless it happens when changing gears, accelerating, or lifting off suddenly etc. basically if the engine doesn't move back and forth when pushing hard on it then they're probably okay.
