Knocking noise when turning

as in title, there is a slight knoking when turning left and right but it isn't all the time just every now and again.

I dont think it's the cv joint but at a loss to think what else it could be :S it definatley isn't the exhaust and can't really tell where it is coming from, anyone have an idea to what it might be?

Check your wheel nuts... Got my car back from a grage once when they replaced my cv boot and a few days later I got a noking noise from the same side he fixed I tought it was my cv joint going but I checked the wheel nuts and all where loose but the locking nut, which was starting to lossen...

yeah already checked them, they werent loose as such but they nipped up a little (maybe a 5th of a turn)
