knocking on steering

when i turn the steering wheel when stationary i get a knock

it happens when you turn it either way

anyone have any idea's what it could be(common weak points) as i'm s**t with the mechanical side of cars

Does ut ever happen when you are moving? Especially parking speeds?

I get funny these funny noises sometime while at very slow speeds on full lock to the right!? knocking/ creaking....very wierd. Yeah anyone got a clue what it might be?
