Ktec valves

If you've not bought the valves yet though dude let me know what you're doing as I may jump in if theres a few of you.
Sorry mate - I've already ordered mine. But Steve did say he's getting a whole new batch ordered and shipped over as demand has suddenly gone up!

On the N/A versus Turbo thing, its a LOT easier to keep an N/A clio on the track than a turbo one from a reliability point of view, total lack of torque is good for the gearbox etc.

If I only had one trackday car, it would quite possibly be an N/A one TBH, they do drive in a fantastic way too and I just LOVE the sound of a decent N/A engine.

But as I can just jump in the mrs RS2 one whenever I want anyway, it would be pointless me having an ITB one that was just the same basically but maybe 10% more, I'd sooner have the contrast of some proper power instead.
Her RS2'd Clio is awesome mate and goes exceptionally well (even in the wet at Llandow).

Whilst I have your attention, would I be right in thinking that (bored to 83mm) the displacement would now be...

Displacement = 83.0mm * 83.0mm * 93.0mm * (3.14 / 1000.0) = 2012cc (approx)

Just out of curiosity more than anything and wondering if the above is the right formula?

Depends, do you like finishing last by several laps? Cause that is what would happen if everyone else was allowed unrestricted turbos like we can with trackday cars and you choose not to use one too, lol

Ironically though, because of the suspension differences and weight saving etc, I suspect your asthmatic weazy little underpowered engine'd car will still outpace my turbo anywhere we go together, but that will be despite your N/A engine not because of it, lol
I have good experience of finishing several laps behind lol!

Haaaha PMSL! Your on a roll tonight mate :rasp: Will be a good laugh either way i’m sure :)

Thanks mate, we are really pleased with it on track considering its a totally uncompromised daily still with leather and aircon etc :)

Yes that is correct mate, up from 1998.

Dont go expecting big torque gains from the 1.4% increase in capacity though, lol

That's what I like about it, Chip. The fact that it's a regular daily-driver and can still mix it up with 'superior' cars on track. Obviously it helps with a decent driver behind the wheel but still... LOL!

Thanks for confrming. As for the torque, you mean I won't be seeing 200lbft?!?!? LOL! To be honest, I'd be happy somewhere in the 170-180 range (and - realistically - aiming for a peak power in the region of 220-230 once all done).

Thanks for the kind words :)

170lbft is pretty easier, braking past 220 less so, but even if it ends up at 218 or something, still going to FLY compared to now :)

  Evo 5 RS
lol no worries Andy.

And yeah as Chip says, I've seen a few high comp builds and none of them have managed to break 220, but like anything I wouldn't worry it'll still be fooking fast. And sound like it's almost hitting V-Tec too lol.

I've broken 220 several times, not even the wildest spec possible either. Beanies made 224 and that's with a few compromises.could have changed the cams any got almost 10bhp more from it

Cheers for the input guys. As stated prior, despite the costs, I'm not chasing a massive peak power figure. Anywhere around 220bhp (give or take a few) and I'll be happy. It's a great spread of torque that I want to maintain and that subtle "edgy/highly strung" nature that the ITB's provide. I went into purchasing the ITB's with realistic expectations as to what they would do to the car and the same applies here. :D Thanks for the input and sorry I hijacked the thread!

Must admit Dan, I was surprised by your rate of progress on that, IIRC she took you out in on saturday, and by friday you had the rs2 fitted and 197 cams in etc?
