KTR front and rear brakes upgrade

  Golf R soon...
Any one ever bought the KTR uprated fast road front brake kits and KTR uprated rear brake kit!

Need to some new brakes but I also want something to look good behind my new trophy wheels!

wouldnt bother spending any money on the rear brakes to be honest, as they dont really offer you anything, and they're tiny so regardless of what you do they still look silly lol.

as for the fronts, ive never used them myself, but they do look quite good. considered the brembo max discs with some branded pads and braided lines?

Stevo, do you have any pics of the front and rears, just fancy a nose:rolleyes:

I think my rears will need changing as I have done 36k since they were replaced

Right Daz the setup you are talking about is what I have had on my cup for about 3 months after purchasing a set of stainless steel brake hoses from k tec racing and being very impressed with the way they perform i.e helping me brake quicker i thought imagine how much better I would be stopping if i upgraded the whole brake system. Now ppl are right in telling you that the rear brakes dont do alot in fact about 10-30% from the rear do the work if that. But I thought why do half a job so ordered cross drilled discs all round and greenstuff pads on the front with kevlar pads for the rear and when arrived I found out that the rear pads were EBC heavy duty pads. After running these in for about 200 miles I then took the cup out for a real test run and f**k me im nearly going through the windscreen everytime I press the brake pedal and seems as i havent got a turbo or throttle body conversion (YET!!!) i really cant see the point in getting 4 pot brakes.

I,ve got their rear setup e.g Cross drilled discs and ebc pads. They've been on for about 6 months and don't look very new anymore. seem to be ok, but as everone says the rears don't do to much.

I run the WP Pro 310 kit from prima on the front and they work a treat but are very noisy. But lasting well.

Actually the car now is over braked. The ABS is always trying to sort its self out.

Hope that helps with your purchase.

KTR brakes all round, including pads, cost £380.71.

The package I want from Yozza will be £410, which is the standard pads and rear discs from renault @ £165.00, something a little special on the front  2 x Brembo High Carbon 280mm Front Discs, Front Axle Set Pagid Blue Race Pads and 4 x Moquip Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses.

Which one do you guys reckon?

well you're compairing a Pagid Blue race pad (most expensive pad on the market, and we sell it the cheapest) to an EBC "kevlar" or green pad (cheapest 2 EBC pads available)

you figure out the rest ;)

Im looking at about 450 for a 4pot set up. Calipers, lines, fluid and pads + Brackets...It's in development just now.

Fred, you may well be a few pounds cheaper but we do have our own premesis to pay for. We also have Renault trained mechanics and a fully equipped workshop in which to carry out the work. This does not come cheap so ultimately our labour rate may be a little higher. Its also very expensive to live where we are so staff need paying more (which is a pain!!).

Pagid blues ar superb pads and we use them on our Clio turbo. They are expensive but they do work well, the can be fitted with any of our discs.

Stevie, soory to hear you had problems with the discs on your big brake kit. Warping is not a problem we normally see and if there is anything I can help you with on your 172 please let me know.

David.
