decent lap by Mr Kubica
I'd love a passenger ride in a car with a top driver.I like Misha's videos. And awesome pace from Mr. K.
It's crazy the amount of pace a serious top level driver can extract beyond what a 'quick' driver can manage.

299 euro for a GT2RS taxi lapIf I ever went to the Nordschleife I wouldn't even bother taking my car around. All my money would be going towards as many taxi laps as possible. You could drive anything you liked, you would never come close to belting around the Nordschleife as quickly as they do in their GT3RS'es, AMG GT-Rs etc.
I did the v10 m5 ring lap with 2 mates and Sabine. We drifted literally f**king EVERYWHERE and I was hanging my head out the back window ready to barf (shockingly bad as a passenger! 😂). But she kept her foot in and was laughing at me trying to throw up lol! Went sub 8 with Sabine.I'd love a passenger ride in a car with a top driver.
The last two visits of mine I've not driven it at all and only done taxi laps. It's a whole different experience and is worth every single penny! If I ever went to the Nordschleife I wouldn't even bother taking my car around. Think that says everything we need to know about your driving...If I ever went to the Nordschleife I wouldn't even bother taking my car around. Have you been to the Ring -Rob? Surely your joking about the Ring taxi’s not being fast..?
Think that says everything we need to know about your driving...
Taxi laps generally aren’t that fast.
The Ring Taxi drivers can't take big risks just to impress you
exactly this ^
when I last spoke to Dale he said he would peg the laps back to a 'slowish' 7:45ish lap in the F-Type
When Apex have said their drivers have gone sub 7, do they not mean on their own?
They're not though, there's loads of them. Have you even been? There may be locals in full blown race cars with 200 laps under their belt going faster but they are few and far between.

first track day I did I paid for some tuition. The guy was telling me to be flat on the accelerator when I was feathering the throttle mid corner. He keeps dabbing the throttle where I would have braked. 😕
It does make your opinion less valid, yes. We're not talking about lap records or British guys descending upon the 'Ring for the first time. There are lots of people during the summer months doing very quick laps of the circuit in some pretty potent cars, many of which are overtaking Ring Taxi's and suchlike. Anyone who's been will know that the place is full of very fast drivers who know what they're doing.No. Does that make my opinion less valid? Also no.
You are not going to take a trip to the Nordschleife and straight away, f**k it, even with a week’s worth of laps, be quicker than a vastly more experienced racing driver in literally the fastest production car ever to lap the ‘Ring, which they also know like the back of their hand.

If it wasn't for him showing me how to go faster I'm pretty sure my engine wouldn't have blown up just before lunch. 😂
The example I remember was a 6:50 with time left on the table for cautiousness. Was just after a track closure so they had a fairly clear run. I think the more normal times for the GT2RS are low to mid 7s.
Of course with traffic they’ll be slower but they’ll still be way quicker than any wannabe hero who rocks up reckoning they’re going to go straight into doing sub-8s.

Not long I wouldn't have thought. LolI wonder how long it will be before someone puts their M4 into a barrier trying to match Kubica's time?
Actually I'd put my neck out and say sub 8 isn't that crazy with a fast car (M3 or faster) and good tyres. I did 10 minutes on my first trip there with a Clio 1.5 dci and road tyres. I've never been back in my own car because I couldn't drive at that limit in my current car and current age. I'd love to, just won't let myself... Well maybe one day..
I did sub 9:40 laps in my standard Swift on road brakes and tyres, on a really busy bank holiday with lots of traffic. I've been 8:40 in a 172 with a local German behind the wheel. One of my mates did 8:11 in his supercharged DC2, all the above are BTG of course.
the MR does a full lap in 6:40........... so as everyone's been saying, the taxi's are objectively 'slow'
I did 3/4 trackdays on my own, then I drove with a former karting champion and Ginetta race series drive & then had lessons with the Javelin instructor.
They both told me different lines, different braking points, turning in points etc.
I think unless you are a formula one driver everyone's driving and opinions are slighty different.
Just skip the part where I highlight that you say you wouldn’t want to experience driving the ring in your own car...LOL.
Robert Mitchell of Apex has said that his taxi drivers have gone comfortably sub 7 on multiple occasions when it’s quiet.
If you think you’re that much of a hero at driving then you’re f**king deluded.
No mate, never been. My Avatar doesn’t give it away either 😉Have you been to the Ring -Rob? Surely your joking about the Ring taxi’s not being fast..?

Nothing gets everyone excited like a Nurburgring lap time.
Ive never been, and never done a lap time. I’m not a real man.
