Thought I would start a thread about my van. Mostly because it's Sunday and I'm bored and another way of seeing how far it's came.
After running about with @Mickb and his F4r swapped Nissan Kubistar van a few years back I somehow talked myself into needing one. I kept an eye on all the usual places for non runner vans but most still held a premium, and I'm tight af.
One of the lads asked if I could pick him up from a garage he was dropping his car off for some work. This is where I discovered the van.
It lay in the corner of his yard for about 5 years and he'd been filling it with scrap to eventually weigh in. I offered to buy it and collected it that night for the sum of £200 (about £200 too much)
Once it was back at my work I gave it a good wash inside and out. Checked it over fully and found it to be a pretty tidy wee van even though it had been sat so long.
Once it was cleaned up and cleaned out we started on the strip down of both this and the ph1 which was donating most of its bits and bobs. the bay was painted to freshen it up ready for the engine prior to fitting.
First ride out to see friends.
Sent away to have the dent removed. Guy did a great job getting the shape back. Hats off.
New stickers, new tyres and a wheel swap
That's kinda where it's at atm. Still getting used to how it handles as its a bit higher and longer than a Clio but it's still pretty good around the twisty bits.
Needs the tracking and camber set up properly and some new rear shoes but overall I'm extremely happy with how it's turned out. I couldn't have done it without Mick he's been the driving force when I've lost interest. Ross for all his painting and pushing. John for picking up the slack as always.
Comments and criticism welcome. I'll keep this updated as progress continues. I do have plans for a track day with it just for a laugh but we'll see how it goes.
