Kurbed wheel treatment

A while back a local garage did a bit of damage to one of my turini's that had been recently refurbed

You can make out the damage here. Is it best to treat this with something? as it is effectively bare metal.

localised patch repair ( or blow in ) , sand the area down so its not flakey. etch primmer, and touch up with the paint colour and lacquer ( sp )

Thanks, Ideally I'm just looking for something I can apply to stop any corrosion if such a thing exists?
