lack of power?

hi there my 172 seems to be lacking power I know that my dephaser + cam belt needs doing would this result in loss of power?

I got mine with a rattling dephaser. Didnt have the 5k kick until after i got it changed. So i guess it could affect the power yes

A loss of power could be from anything.

Blocked cat
Fucked spark plugs
Mickey mouse exhaust
Gummed up throttle body
Chavvy induction kit
Incorrect timing

What won't cause you a loss of power is your belt being old or your dephaser tapping away.
