Lambda Sensor - ph1 172

Simple question - is the single lambda sensor on a ph1 172 (double barrel shotgun cat) the same as on later 172/182's?

Think ive found an NGK one on ebay for just over £40 delivered

Can anyone enlighten me as to why ngk list 2 different versions that relate to the same 1 renault part number?

just want to make sure im getting the right thing

Is this to extend to the rear cat position i assume?

sorry im massively confused now, on the ngk partfinder, when you chose the front sensor it shows a wire length of 455mm, yet when you chose the rear position it shows the same connector only with a length of 380mm - surely thats back to front?

Bosch also seem to operate a similarly backwards system on their catalogue.

Just a case of get the longest one and cable tie the b**ch out of the way?

rear one is the shorter wires. I've swapped rear sensors to the front for people though and they fit with minor manipulation

ah right, i was assuming they both connected at the front end of the car and therefore the longest would be the rear.
