Lamborghini Experience

I did the Lamborghini Experience today at Bruntingthorpe. I got to drive a Gallardo andMurciélago. It was a great day out, and provided you can show the instructor you can listen and pay attention as well as drive well they'll let you take them out onto the back straight for the last lap and plant it.

As I did the
Murciélago I didn't get to hammer that too much, plus that's one hell of a big expensive car to bump. The instructor was impressed with my driving and the only thing he marked me down on was I got a little close to a slow assed Ferrari at one point who was in front of me.

The guy who was with me in the Gallardo was really easy going and had me booting it from the second I got in, that could have been because Fred had a word with him before hand. He was happy to let me push it much harder through the chicanes, and again allowed me to do the flying straight to finish.

Here's the pics I took today and a few of my faves.

Did the Gallardo with the same company (and track) last year.

Amazing expereince.:approve:

Only let downs were, the track, slower cars in the way (guess this happens everywhere though but more pronounced at Brunts given how short the track is) and it was all over so quick.:dapprove:

Plan to do Thruxton next..

Yeah it was. Packed too. It was quite relaxed considering the type of car you get to drive.

I even got sun burnt as I do at FCS each year there!

I was lucky in the Gallardo Dom. On the second lap there was a slower car in front of me so the instructor just got me to boot it and pass him.

Was there a black guy called Brian there doing this with you lee?

He works at JATO at my office and said he was doing a lambo day this weekend.
Small world.

I'm sure one of the guys was called Brian. Fred will be able to confirm that though.

Just re read what you posted. I didn't see any black instructors.

How long does it run for? Is it basically a briefing, familiarisation and then 4 or 5 quick laps in the car?

I did something similar in an RS6, bloody awesome day, if nothing else for the tuition alone

Great pics! Would love to do one of these driving days, I keep on hinting for my birthday/chrimbo pressie!

Yep

Normally all of the above.

Few hours in all. Though sadly, just 10 mins or so in the Lambo. Amazing 10 mins though lol.

Keep hinting lol.

Incredible experience.

You may think your 182 is fast but when you first drive a Supercar Fast car, it'll blow your mind.

If I ever win the lottery, forget houses, holidays etc etc. Straight down to the showrooms to sort some test drives!

i've just got home!! great day today, loads of happy people (we did over 400 experiences today!!!)

i'll have a word with the owner and see if i can sort out a cliosport discount sort of thing

I spoke to your instructor lee, and i saw his marking sheets, he did say you were the best driver he had all weekend, he didn't have to correct you at all! he was impressd when you got it sideways! LOL

the setup is:

you turn up and first you have 2 demo laps, nothing fast, its to show you the circuit, expalin all the turn in points blah blah blah

then you have your experience in the supercar of choice

then you have a high speed passeneger ride in a Scoob sti (if you book it, VERY worth while, you will s**t your pants)

This looks brilliant! I'd love to do it. was it a bit of an anti climax getting back in the clio afterwards?
Would be interested if there is a cliosport discount, although do you have to be 25? I'm only 22.

why the pics say 2006 on them?

LMAO, I wasn't going to mention the sideways moment at the last bend. I flicked it in a little to aggressively and the back end stepped out. I was expecting to be asked to calm down a little but he didn't say anything, just put your foot down and carry on.

The second guy didn't put a mark on my sheet unfortunately so I didn't know what he thought other than his comments. The first guy knocked a couple of marks off me for getting a bit close to the Ferrari but said my driving was fine.

I've got to say, everyone involved in the event was great, very friendly and helpful and both instuctors were spot on. They actually let you drive the cars not just potter around.

I'd have loved more laps in the Gallardo.

I don't know if there's an age limit. There was a girl in my group who didn't look very old.

The Clio still felt as good as ever on the way home. :approve:

I noticed the 2006 on the pics after I'd done them. I use a Batch Framer pluggin for Photoshop. The pics I took at Brands on Monday have 2006 on also. I've fixed it now, but couldn't be arsed to re do the pics. I might re do them one evening just to get it right.
