Laptop advice

Our laptops just given up the ghost, so need another. Will only really be used for downloading (legally), browsing, bit of word processing. Nowt fancy.

Any advice? Not hp, any other brands considered.

I'm on my second DELL desktop, and my first DELL Laptop, and never had any problems at all.

Are Acer any good? We can get a 25% discount on them.

3 acer laptops in my house, 1 is about 5 years old the other 2 a year old and not had a spot of bother with either.

Will take up to 8 GB of memory also. Much better spec all round apart from only coming with 3 GB of ram.
