Laptop Issies

Works laptop is playing up started last week and is intermittent !

its 95% of the time used to run Amtech (Electrical Test Certificate programme) and the usual office documents PDF's and web.

As of last week on the odd occasion the CPU will hit 100% and never go down untill you unplug the charger then its fine plug it back in same happens restart the same happens etc etc !

some days itll do it other time it wont ! anyone any ideas its an HP 6730s !

Start Task Manager > Now go to processes tab > Click CPU (to sort in to order)


What process is using the highest amount of processing power?

Task managers the higest one but it only sits around 48% and other tasks hit maybe between 1-5%

You need to do it whilst CPU is at 100%

Unplugging the charger probably puts the laptop into a slower CPU state which may have the effect of shrugging the problem off without fixing it per se

if windows vista or windows 7... click the battery icon down the bottom right of the screen, then more options. Then change to HIGH PERFORMANCE

you'll notice a huge difference

it used to run dog slow on the laptop in work yet everything else was ok

No matter what its set to the CPU still hits 100% when on charge !

The programs a pile of s**t ! im on a job with i think 60 board in it and if you hit F5 it takes 10 mins to fill the boxes !!!!
