Right my mates given me his laptop to have a look at and his description of the problem was "it does nothing"
So i came home, loaded the thing up and it actually does nothing, Windows Vista loads fine, then when I get to the desktop I can't click on anything, taskbar, icons etc. I can't right click and if I left click the get the circle saying "Wait i'm doing something" but nothing ever happens.
I can load task manager, from there I have loaded msconfig and stopped everything that loads on startup. Still having the problem. I can't get to system restore because it won't let me load anything, i've tried loading a browser and other applications from the task manager but I've had no look, although I can load command prompt.
I've started it in safe mood and still have the same problem.
Any idea's / suggestions? Ideally he said he doesn't want to format due to his iTunes library and stuff for work being on it.
