  Citroen DS3 DSport
N70 RM-84 5.0609.2.0.1
N70 RM-99 3.0544.5.2

Those are the latest firmware versions listed on Mobile Review forums. Any Nokia cervice centre should be able to flash the generic software onto your phone.

Yea Orange have screwed about with the N70 way too much. They make pvPlayer the default video player, but plays back recordings really jerky, and it takes an age to go through the menus to get to Real. All the menus seem really slow too. Considering doing it myself.

Booked my phone in to my local service centre for Thursday to get rid of the orange crap and get it updated. Hopefully it'll be the end of a very problematic phone and the birth of what its ment to be.
Cheers for you help guys

problem!, The guy on the end of the phone said that they could only update the orange software, they could update it so that the orange menu etc would not appear. Is this right or is he not very imformed?

Maybe they mean they can update the firmware but leave the phone locked to the Orange network? Kinda crap if they are saying they'll only update the N70 with the latest Orange firmware for that phone. There is a member of this forum who may be able to assist if the service centre cannot, unfortunately I cannot remember his name :D I'm sure he'll more than likely read this thread.

I see the files are available online to upgrade the N70 and N80 using the standard USB cable as supplied with the phone.

I was thinking of getting this done til I asked my cousins fiance who manages an Orange Shop and she said she wouldn't really recommend it as it invalidates the phones warrenty and if it goes wrong or breaks etc Orange will refuse to replace the handset even if you have their phone insurance....:dapprove:

Just to let you know mate before you make the decision....:approve:
