lazer mouse v glass desk

depends if the glass is clear i guess.

They need a surface to "read"

No mate they don't. I've just tried my Razer Copperhead on a sheet of glass and it wouldn't respond. You'd have to buy a pad for it.

My logitech one didn't work at all until I did a firmware update on it - then it did on my frosted glass mat. So they can *sometimes*. Do a google if poss on the one you are about to go for.
 
I sacked off expensive gaming mouse mats a while ago.

Now I use a piece of Dupont teflon baking sheet(about £2.50) from the supermarket. It's a much better surface that the mats I used to buy from Everglide and such.

Mine works on the underside of my glass desk - very handy! :dapprove:

Frosted on the bottom and shiny on top unfortunately.
