Why didnt u just get a 172 mate lol!
IIRC the Cup ha LESS airbags than 172. So ur gonna be having problems mate. The 172 seats will have airbags in them, not sure if the Cup ones do. So its all looking a bit complicated TBH. ECU and wiring and all that stuff!
Might be wrong tho.

Yes, if you give it an hour after the seats are disconnected from the original car the airbags should be completely discharged, hence they wont go off under any circumstances, you could take them out of the seats but that might mean taking out some stiching, maybe not (ive never removed the leather from the seat frame)
You would only really have problems if you wanted to actually use the side airbags.
i bought the cup because i like it, performance and colour/exterior looks.its like everyone on here wants to upgrade there car in some way, be it interior/ performance / wheels, so why is it a stupid idea to put the leather into a cup, please explain coz im not sure what your talking about
ps kdf , thank you for your help, your exactly on my wave length, i dont want to connect the airbags to my car, but was worried what problems it would cause if i didnt, i like the leather interior in the 172/182 but as we know not an option on the cup, hence why im doing it myself.thx KDF for being helpfull

Good luck matey, as KDF said, they discharge so you wont have a problem unless you want to use the airbags. I dont think your crazy and the seats are wicked to drive in. Go for it, they shouldnt add much weight if any really nothing noticeable. Ignore the numptys having a pop. Its each to their own and its something that you fancy doing. When you have done it post the pics and make the disbelievers eat their words.

Like the guy said, he wanted Cup colour/wheels/spoiler etc but with 172 interior.. maybe he wasnt insterested in weight ? whats the problem with that ??
Its gonna be hell of a lot cheaper buying a cup and getting leather from a written off 172 than get a 172, get it resprayed new alloys, spoiler, splitter etc..

like i said another reason not to join the site, ps forum mods im not the only one that feels this way about the club, i have spoken to a few people who havnt joined for exactly the same reason as me (ie people like dogmaull), the club suffers because of the stupid few who just cant help but be arses and post replys that are of no help at all, shame really as good club other than that.
i never asked you opinion on putting seats in, i just what the cause and effect would be, as for the toaster, please go to yours, turn it on, get a fork, and push it into the slots.

Cup_nut, dont take the bait mate, see what your saying but it comes with the car forum thing. Just be mature and get the seats done if ya want them dude. You’re entitled to come on here surely and ask people. Some folks like to voice there own opinion to an extent of being offensive but as I said that’s a part of using a car forum, it aint worth trying to explain yourself mate. They have their own idea on whats funny and what someone else could find offensive. But you dont want the forum to go all Politically Correct cos that wont be fun either.

172cup_nut, the mods just dont sit and do nothing when someone takes the thread off topic, and isnt even replying to what the person asked. They tend to get modded down !
Make sure you post pics of your conversion when you get it done, will be wierd to see the cup with a nice interior for a change
