LED heater dials

Anyone put new LEDs in the heater dials, ive replaced mine with blue LEDs but they hardly show through.

I took out the orange filter but it hardly made a difference, im guessing im guna have to sand down the inside of the unit?

ive done the speedo dials and stuff mate, i mean the heating controls the twisty knobs not the climate control
