The campaign is very basic Roy, but its very addictive. It's a no frills FPS game, but if you ramp up the difficulty and play with three other good players - it's a sound game.

especially if you know the other 3 people (more if playing versus) and you are on team chat/vent etc.

I rented Left 4 Dead a few weeks ago (and still have hold of it) and it was the first time I've ever played it.

I gotta say, I can't believe it took me so long to get it as it's such good fun.

Much better than deadrising.

Bought this before Christmas ans traded it in yesterday. Have to say it was one of the worst games I have ever played, shallow boring and very repetitive.

It just doesn't deviate from walking through one graphically poor area and being rushed by a limited number of zombie types.

Thats it! I know COD is 'just shooting' but the upgrades, perks and levelling give it some long term interest.

In short fun for a 30 minute blast but given you can't save the online coop campaigns and have to restart them each time was getting on my nerves!

The core shooting, aiming mechnaics were good however!

Wow? You think's it's that bad? I think MW2 online (as did COD4) sux the donkey's schlong for ultimate repetitive boredom - but I think it's far from being one of 'the worst' games I've played. ;)

There's a much bigger depth to L4D2 than most people are willing to accept. You can't get 62 upgrades for an MP5 and a further 114 for your character. That's the whole point - you grab whatever's to hand and make the best of a bad situation with it.

Ramp up the difficulty and tag along with three decent co-players, for a much better game. Personally, I think the online co-op side of L4D2 is where is scores it's biggest bonus marks for me. I was on there last weekend in versus mode and we were continually getting beat as the opposing side was clearly much better than us. Yet we stuck at it and began to use the different zombie types in a coordinated attack - distracting them with the weaker zombies and then charging in with the more powerful ones. We managed to come back at the end and started to give them a decent game for once - which I think was more rewarding for all involved.

Everyone has the same kit and options available to them - and that in turn levels the playing field. If you're winning easily, then you're a better player than the opposition - likewise if you're getting battered - you're not as good as them. It's purely down to player skill and that's what I love about it - not concerning myself with the opposing guy's choice of unlocks or some other kill-streak BS that he's about to call in. :)

It might just be that i've 'come off' 130 hours of demon souls an incredibly rich and strategic RPG, only to be faced with a very shallow game in comparison. That said been enjoying BFBC2 this avo!

Wasn't just me though my co-op partner felt the same way and was relieved when I sugested we traded them in.

On the plus side I bought them at £25 from GAME on a special and traded them in at GAME for over £26...

Could be. But comparing an in-depth, strategic RPG with wave-based FPS game is like pairing off an F1 car against a caravan - they are worlds apart. ;)

Still - each to their own. I've never liked CounterStrike, but millions of people still do. Similarly, there are those that haven't even tried the campaigns in either COD4 or MW2 and those to me are the best bits in either game.
